MIghty Good Kids™

Mighty Good Kids logoWe have developed a structured program to teach children how to improve social interaction and expand their emotional awareness. The Mighty Good Kids™ - Workshop for Social and Emotional Development can be implemented in almost any setting that can accommodate at least six children and allows for moderate physical activity. Mighty Good Kids programs emphasize mutual support, and are a safe way for children and teens to explore new social skills and personal awareness.

Mighty Good Kids programs are driven by a philosophy of instilling confidence by expanding competence. Participants are actively involved in role-play, interactive games, and exercises designed to reinforce taught material. An especially unique aspect of Mighty Good Kids programs for boys is how social and emotional development are psychologically anchored as aspects of personal strength. This approach is highly motivating for school-age boys, and consistently results in greater participation and effort. Some of the topics covered in Mighty Good Kids groups include:

Communication Pragmatics

  • Making introductions
  • Reading nonverbal communication
  • Talking with your body
  • Listening with your eyes and your ears

Friendship

  • What makes a good friend
  • The boundaries of friendship
  • The art of giving compliments

Leadership

  • Leading by example
  • Leadership styles

Teamwork

  • Building blocks of teamwork
  • How to disagree
  • Where does trust come from

Taking Responsibility

  • What do I stand for
  • Learning to say you're sorry
  • Earning respect

Courage

  • What is social courage
  • 10 ways everyone can be brave
